State of Gujarat may see a boom in the IT sector in coming years, this was stated by Mr Som Mittal President of Nasscom in the IT-summit-2010 held at ahmedabad in gujarat. There is a higher probability of few big companies who plan to start its bases in some cities of Gujarat.
Looking at the current scenarios and industrail growth of the state of gujrat in india, Nasscom a body in IT is positive that this state may see a growth in IT and IT enabled services ITES.
Speaking at the at IT Summit-2010 in ahmedabad the president of Nasscom Mr Som Mittal said "I think we have just started touching the IT space in Gujarat. In the wake of demand, we see business growing in 44 cities of the country, out of which Ahmedabad , Vadodara and Surat have clearly emerged on the top,"
Mr Som Mittal also said , Giant IT companies are looking up to estabilish it setup in Gujrat and if this happen, then the cities in state of gujrat may see IT groth wave in the citiies of Gujrat which will be similar to the growth of some cities like Chennai,Pune & Hyderabad as in the past.
Nasscom conducted an study which revealed thatmore than $70 Billion (USD) will be the revenue in the current year this includes the revenues from the service sector. Nasscom has projected the revenues to touch $225 billion mark by 2020.
There has been confirmed indication from Mahindra Satyam today that it will be establishing its base in Gujarat, this descision has been taken by Mahindra Satyam only after the through review and recommendation from the joint internal panel of the company
The proposed plan of setting up an IT park in Gandhinagar in 2006 by SCS, was abandoned due to multi crore scam and the allocated land for the project was surrendered back
