Why Telecom Industry is Skeptical About Auction of 5G Spectrum Soon

New Delhi: Telecom industry does not want auction of 5G spectrum soon, this is the reason. Government is in the process of launching 5G services in the country, it is believed that 5G will be launched commercially around 2020. At a time when the country's telecom sector (telecom industry) has been struggling to expand the 4G network across India, the government is in the process of launching 5G services. According to the media report, it is believed that 5G will be launched commercially around 2020. However, the government has not yet announced the spectrum auction.

According to the information, the telecommunications industry is excited about the launch of 5G services, but given the poor financial condition of this sector, the government should do auctioned spectrum a few days before commercial launch.

As the banking sector is already facing a bad financial situation, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) believes that the lenders will not give loans to the telecommunications industry to bid for spectrum. Because of this, the industry will have to depend on foreign resources.

At the same time, COG DG Rajan Mathews said that we want the domestic banks to lend to the industry. However, seeing the current financial situation of the banking industry is so difficult. That is why we must rely on external sources.

Explain that the Steering Committee constituted to prepare a roadmap for the 5G mobile technology in India has proposed to start 5G spectrum auction till December to speed up the next generation wireless services. In the report, the committee has made extensive recommendations regarding the spectrum policy, rules, education and standards for the beginning and expansion of 5G services in the country.

According to the three-tier method of allocation of 5G spectrum, according to the committee, the total licensing spectrum of 8.3 GHz should be given below the 4 GHz to 405 Mhz with 137 Mhz and 5.2 GHz below 45 GHz. While it will be appropriate to allocate 14 GHz non-licensed and 10 GHz light licensing spectrum in the 57-86 GHz band for backhall. On the other hand, Committee on Wifi has suggested opening of additional non-licensed spectrum band in the 5 GHz band for outdoor use. It has been said in the report that 5G is likely to have an economic impact of more than $ 10 trillion on the country.
