Self-Reliant in Weapons and Armaments to Build a Safe, Secure and Progressive Nation

The President of India, Shri Mukherjee was called upon by the batch of 2014 (II) and 2015( I & II) IOFS (Indian Ordnance Factories Service ) probationers , on 14-04-2016 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Addressing the probationers, the President said we must look ahead to be an autonomous country in weapon systems and armaments that will enable us to build a safe, secure and forward looking nation. He went on to say that our country is taking all necessary steps that will ensure our armed forces to be equipped with most advance and sophisticated that is at par with the world. Initiative for such measure should be taken by the Ordinance Factories in India.

The President also praised the achievement of  the Indian Ordnance Factories Organization for declaring all time high turnover of Rs 14132 Crore in in fiscal 2015-16 as against the target turnover of Rs 13500. Looking at the out performance of the Indian Ordnance Factories the target of the Rs 20,000 Crore looks within the striking range, said the President.
